Course Description
In B.Sc in Medical Instrumentation and Critical Care Technology students learn about theoretical and practical aspects of equipment and machinery used in intensive care units such as Electrocardiogram (ECG), Echocardiography, Computerized Treadmill Test (TMT), Intra Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) among others. This degree can lead you to profiles like Critical Care Technician, Intensive Care Unit Technologist, Emergency Medicine Physician, CAT Technician, Dialysis Assistant, Respiratory Therapist, etc. After completion, students are well equipped to work in the Critical Care Unit, Cardiac Unit, Operation Theatre, etc.
Program Overview
Exposure to new information technologies and communication systems will make each student an expert. All topics are taught by experts in their field. The course is assessed by a variety of methods, each appropriate to the topic being assessed. PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) and Peer Mentoring scheme. Newly refurbished computing labs furnished with modern desktop computers.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 50% marks or above in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (CBSE, ISC, A Levels or any other equivalent Board examination) with English as a compulsory subject are preferred. Students who are due to appear for Class XII final exams/awaiting results may be given provisional admission depending on their CET score. Admissions are strictly on merit basis.
